The term traces back to the Sanskrit lavarNa (Tau), meaning “departing”, a concept deeply tied to pollination and emergence. The pentagram—originally a symbol of pollination and creation—illustrates this departure: leaving our home and beginning a new life. Minoti + Tau translates to “Builder of the Crossing”, “Carrier of the Seed”, or “Generator who gives weight to form. Astaratnam is the original name of a sacred cosmological code. Long before it was reduced to the seductive figure of Astarte, it represented the living law of the universe — a complete system of moral, spiritual, and cosmic understanding encoded in eight principles, known as the Asta-Ratna, or Eight Jewels.

These were never mere symbols. They were a dynamic transmission: a moral and mathematical blueprint designed to guide consciousness through existence. The Phoenicians carried this knowledge as a unified field — where language, mathematics, cosmology, and ethics were one.

Later cultures fragmented and distorted it. What was once divine order was turned into stories of lust, war, and fertility. Yet the original structure survived, preserved most faithfully in the Buddhist tradition as the Asta-Ratna and in Japanese forms that kept its living resonance intact.

The Hidden Story

These Eight Jewels were not abstract philosophy. They were a complete operating system for human consciousness — preserved and transmitted by the Phoenician (RhoMaNi) world. When that knowledge was scattered through conquest and enslavement, the jewels were broken into separate traditions. The name itself was distorted: Astaratnam became Astarte — stripped of its mathematical and moral depth, reduced to a goddess of desire.

Yet the pattern survived.

Some currents, especially those that travelled with Buddhism into East Asia, preserved the living geometry with remarkable fidelity. The Japanese forms in particular retained the precision and resonance of the original operators.
